The steps towards sustainability

Climate protection means sustainability. A mindful approach to nature and all resources should be a matter of course today. Thanks to state-of-the-art technological developments, IT companies in particular provide the necessary tools on the way to becoming a climate-neutral company. At DeDeNet, we live both sustainability and digitalisation - and use our expertise internally and as a service for this purpose. For a future characterised by green IT, which we are already moving towards step by step.

Electric cars

Currently, 3/4 of our fleet already consists of electric cars. A total of ten charging points are available, which utilise renewable electricity from six PV systems. As the range of electric cars increases, DeDeNet's fleet of electrically powered vehicles will continue to expand.

E-bikes

With a focus on health and the environment, we offer our employees the option of e-bike leasing. The awareness of avoiding the consumption of fossil fuels, reducingCO2 emissions and at the same time doing something for our own well-being is deeply rooted in the minds of our team and is supported by us to the best of our ability.

Packaging material

Wherever possible, we endeavour to use recycled packaging material or dispense with packaging altogether. When placing orders, we endeavour to place collective orders in order to bundle parcels and deliveries. It goes without saying that we carefully separate the materials that are nevertheless produced for further processing in various recycling channels.

Growth

All our activities are accompanied by steady company growth as well as sustainable and prudent budgeting. This not only benefits DeDeNet, but also our customers, who can continue to rely on a healthy and strong partner in the future thanks to our solid development. We want to continue to guarantee this security so that our customers can concentrate on the essentials - their core business.

Products

We also contribute to sustainability in companies with our products and IT solutions. The focus here is on digitalisation.

Our telematics solution DeDeFleet, for example, significantly increases efficiency and optimises resources in fleet management. Route planning and optimisation helps to save thousands of kilometres, thereby reducing fuel consumption,CO2 pollution and vehicle wear and tear. Order lists, which are not issued as paper lists but transferred digitally to the driver app, also reduce paper consumption.

Tree planting campaign

Our 25th company anniversary in 2021 was the starting signal for our ecologically sustainable heart project: We are involved in the Leinetal forest project and participate in the reforestation of regional forests as part of the tree planting campaigns - for an improvedCO2 balance.

Sustainable investment strategy

Our company's reserves are not put away in a piggy bank, but are invested in line with the times. When it comes to the investment strategy for our capital, we make sure that we invest in sustainable ESG investments wherever possible in order to fulfil our environmental and sustainability principles.

Reducing electricity consumption

We have been acting and working in an energy-conscious manner even before the 2022 energy crisis. When selecting our data centre, for example, we rely on the provider Deutsche Telekom, which has been sourcing its electricity exclusively from renewable energies throughout the Group since the beginning of 2021. When using hardware, devices are configured in such a way that they go into standby mode after a short idle time. In the case of electrical devices, we largely dispense with standby mode and switch the devices off completely.

Service life of electrical appliances

We extend the service life of PCs, mobile devices, monitors, printers, etc. through regular maintenance and careful handling - saving valuable resources. At the end of a long life cycle, we dispose of them professionally so that high-quality raw materials can be reused sustainably.

Avoiding paper

As digitisation experts, we also focus on the digital archiving of documents and the avoidance of printouts. Avoiding packaging material and unnecessary paper products also helps to conserve valuable resources.

Home office

Our employees continue to take advantage of the opportunity to spend part of their working time working from home. This benefits the environment by reducing travel distances by up to 40 per cent. In addition, working from home gives employees a significant gain in free time by avoiding travelling and traffic jams.
